Problem Statement and Significance

The ongoing rapid integration of artificial intelligence in the workplace represents the most significant shift and transformation of the twenty-first century. AI systems have been rolling out in the workplace and are routinely deployed to assign tasks, evaluate employee activity/performance and guide decisions. Although these technologies offer unimaginable opportunities and a major increase in technological capabilities there is a large threat to employee well-being, privacy and security.

Worldwide implications of AI technology have been significant and some companies have been hesitant to implement it into their workplace due to potential risks and cost. TD Bank is one example of a company that prioritizes a human centric culture and does not want to impede this culture with AI implementation. However in a fast moving and rapidly changing world you must find ways to adapt or falling behind would be inevitable. TD has come to our group wanting to find ways to implement AI systems into their workplace without hindering any employee well-being, security and privacy.
